This role involves providing support and guidance to students, addressing issues that impact their transition, retention, wellbeing, and academic success. The Advisor will work closely with a primary faculty and collaborate with Student Affairs and Service Quality teams to support students within the BondCare Model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for students from transition to graduation.
- Provide timely and targeted information and proactive interventions.
- Develop strategies with students to access resources and connect with specialist services.
- Demonstrate understanding of diverse student issues and relevant HE and visa regulations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality, culturally appropriate support.
- Case manage complex support needs and contribute to feedback and evaluation for service improvements.
**About the person**:
Applicants should demonstrate the following:
- Relevant HE qualification in human services, social work, education, or related field, with at least 2 years of experience.
- Understanding of student transition, retention, and holistic wellbeing in higher education.
- The ability to stay informed about relevant changes to University strategy, legislation, or policy as it pertains to their role.
- Strong, culturally aware interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to a student-centric approach, delivering solution-focused outcomes.
- Experience in creating written and digital content for diverse audiences.
- Ability to perform diverse tasks efficiently, using initiative and sound judgement.
- Current blue card.
**Salary details**:
The salary for the position commences at $96,064.75 per annum, plus 12% superannuation.
