Job Title: Security Policy Specialist — Govt Policy
A leading government client is seeking a skilled Security Policy Specialist for a 12-month contract in Canberra. The role involves developing and implementing protective security policies, collaborating with subject matter experts, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Developing and maintaining security policies and procedures to ensure the protection of classified information;
* Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and mitigate security risks;
* Providing advice and guidance on security matters to senior officials and other stakeholders;
* Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of security policies and procedures;
* Staying up-to-date with changes in security regulations and guidelines.
The ideal candidate will have:
Proven experience in security policy development and implementation, preferably within a government or defence context.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address complex security issues.
NV1 clearance (or ability to obtain) is mandatory for this position. The opportunity to upgrade to NV2 may be available.
