What You Will Do
* Demonstrate initiative, sensitivity, confidentiality and judgement in supporting the Principal in their roles
* Manage office functions and correspondence by composing replies to routine correspondence for the principal's signature; provide a professional word processing service for the production of highly confidential and sensitive correspondence such as staff performance reports, student matters; sort correspondence by mail into priority order; ensure the principal's filing system is efficiently maintained and updated
* Create and draft documents and correspondence including letters, surveys, reports, educational and public relations material
* Manage complex, sensitive and confidential enquiries from within and outside the school community either by phone or face to face and refer them appropriately
* Coordinate and prioritise appointments while exercising initiative, discretion and judgement in managing day‐to‐day matters, the level of urgency, prioritising, arranging, changing and cancelling appointments
* Manage all telephone calls on the principal's behalf, determining the nature of the calls and redirecting to appropriate staff if necessary or answering the inquiry personally
What You Will Bring
* High level interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate and relate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide range of people including staff, students, parents/caregivers, external agencies and the wider community
* Ability to work under limited direction and be self‐motivated and use initiative while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and discretion
* Proven experience working as a secretarial assistant to leadership and be highly organised, maintaining office systems, procedures and filing
