OPPORTUNITY
Join Carriageworks for a 6-month role supporting a major capital works project at one of Australia's leading contemporary arts venues.

We're seeking a proactive and organised professional to support the Facilities Manager in maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant venue during this significant capital works period. This role is ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their career, build new skills, and gain hands-on experience in facilities and project operations within a fast-paced arts environment.

It's a unique opportunity to broaden your operational knowledge while contributing directly to the delivery of a major infrastructure project – an excellent springboard for future roles in facilities, operations, or venue management.

Key Responsibilities

* Coordinate day-to-day venue operations to maintain safety, access, and service quality.
* Supervise core services including cleaning, waste, security, and landscaping.
* Prioritise and track maintenance tasks, ensuring timely issue resolution.
* Support event-related schedules, checklists, and building service delivery.
* Liaise with internal departments and external contractors to meet operational needs.
* Conduct venue inspections and oversee post-event condition reporting.
* Procure supplies and equipment to support ongoing operations.
* Contribute to WHS practices, audits, incident reporting, and compliance checks.
* Oversee service providers, ensuring high standards and contract compliance.
* Promote sustainable practices in energy use and environmental management.
* Coordinate small-scale and internal projects such as office relocations and minor works.
* Actively engage in weekly precinct operations meetings across departments.

DIVERSITY
At Carriageworks, we are committed to creating an inclusive and diverse workplace that mirrors the creativity and dynamism of the arts we champion. We welcome and encourage applications from people with disability, the LGBTIQ+ communities, from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Criteria

* Experience in facilities or venue operations, ideally in arts or cultural spaces.
* Knowledge of building systems (e.g. HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
* Familiarity with WHS, compliance, and emergency procedures.
* Competence in Microsoft Office and facilities software.
