About the role
We have an opportunity for a compassionate and experienced perioperative nurse interested in a permanent full-time position in multiple areas.
5. Scrub/Scout
6. Provide exceptional nursing care and advocacy for your patients in theatre
7. Assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate the care needs of patients
8. Continually monitor patients’ conditions, report changes and escalate concerns during procedures
9. Anaesthetics/PACU
10. Coordinate and deliver patients’ anaesthetics and recovery needs
11. Identify and appropriately escalate patients’ changing needs
12. Demonstrate the Eastern Health value of patients first, ensuring safety and positive outcomes

Maroondah Hospital Operating Theatres
The team is seeking applicants knowledgeable and skilled in the areas of Scrub/Scout and/or Anaesthetics/PACU to work in a predominantly night duty capacity. The successful applicant will work predominantly night duty Monday to Thursday with semi-regular rotations into day/afternoon shifts as negotiated.
Maroondah Hospital has four operating theatres and supports a wide variety of surgeries including; orthopaedics, plastics, breast, endoscopy and general surgery. With an on-site ICU, acute medical and surgical units, we offer care to patients for the duration of their hospital journey. Eastern Health has a philosophy of Patients First. About you
To be successful in the role you will have:
13. A minimum of 24 months’ Perioperative experience in Perioperative nursing
14. Post Graduate qualifications in Perioperative Nursing will be highly regarded
15. Current registration with AHPRA (essential)
16. Successful completion of a nurse graduate program (essential)
17. Recent acute nursing experience (within Australia)
18. Post graduate qualifications will be highly regarded
19. An empathetic and personable demeanour
20. A strong commitment to high quality care
21. The ability to work as part of a diverse team
22. Excellent communication and organisational skills
