As a Technical Writer, you will lead the creation and development of high-quality, user-friendly product documentation and support content for customers globally.
Responsibilities
Create and maintain user friendly product documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, quick start guides, and troubleshooting documentation.
Collaborate closely with different teams to gather information and translate complex technical details into clear, accurate, and user-friendly content.
Ensure all documentation aligns with brand, style, and compliance standards.
Manage version control and update documentation in line with product releases and revisions and localise content to meet regional requirements and product variations.
Support translation of user documentation with external parties.
Work with graphic designers and subject matter experts to develop diagrams, schematics, and visual aids that enhance user understanding.
Manage and maintain global knowledge bases, ensuring content accuracy, consistency, and usability across all four regions (AU/NZ/EU/US).
Optimise knowledge base structure, taxonomy, and tagging to improve search relevance and user experience.
Monitor performance metrics (article usage, deflection rates, feedback scores) to measure and enhance content effectiveness.
Qualifications
Minimum three years' experience in technical writing, production documentation or knowledge management.
Proven experience developing user manuals and product documentation for technical or engineered products.
Strong attention to detail, organisation, and consistency
Experience in automotive, electronics, or industrial technology sectors.
Experience managing multi-region or multi-language knowledge bases (e.g., Zendesk Guide, Salesforce Knowledge, Confluence).
Understanding of SEO, accessibility, and UX best practices for documentation.
Advance skills in Adobe Creative Suite software packages or similar.
