The Qantas Group’s main business is the transportation of customers and freight using two complementary airline brands — Qantas and Jetstar — operating regional, domestic, and international services.Job DescriptionThe Senior Project Manager for the IT Property Portfolio manages large, visible projects/programmes or a range of projects with tactical impact, lengthy project life cycles; this involves the selection and management of project resources, multiple negotiations at all levels and the need to network internally in order to achieve project objectives and ensure that business goals and strategies are met.The Senior Project Manager will ensure effective engagement with stakeholders, partners and team members to ensure project objectives are achieved and roadblocks cleared. Relationships with internal and external key stakeholders are fundamental to successfully coordinating all aspects of the project(s) across the specific project streams, against key milestones, process complexity, critical dependencies and deliverables.The Senior Project Manager understands the business requirements defined in conjunction with the Property lead and then liaise with IT service partners and technical SMEs accordingly. You will have a good appreciation of the project activities leading up to and implementing a construction project, from business requirements, concept design, detailed design, tendering, engagement, implementation, Practical Completion.The majority of projects are within Sydney, however, occasional domestic and international travel may be required.You’ll have:7 + years of Project Management experience in large technology environments.Proven track record of successfully delivering complex technology projects (Infrastructure e.g. Property), from planning through to implementation, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.Requires a working knowledge of interfacing with building/construction activities as the role sits within the property driven project structure.Knowledge of infrastructure technologies including data networks, WiFi, Audio Visual, Voice, Cabling Solutions, EUC, Comms standards.Strong motivation and self-starter attitude, ability to motivate fully fledged teams.Ability to act as the IT lead and work with diverse stakeholders: Architects, Services Engineer (Electrical/Hydraulics/Mechanical/Fire), Security, Business Stakeholders, etc.Strong experience in defining project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.Expertise in developing and maintaining detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, and effectively managing project resources. Experience of using Procore for this is an added advantage.Strong demonstrated experience managing a variety of different stakeholder groups concurrently and at all levels.Strong commercial acumen, monitoring and reporting on project progress, budgets, proficiency leading early commercial vendor conversations, SOW drafting, review and recommendations.Airline experience (desired, but not essential).Strong understanding and practical application of PRINCE2 project management methodologies.Recognised Project Management certifications, such as PMI, PMP, PRINCE2, or AIPM preferred.Why Qantas?If you’re successful in your application, you’ll join a team where creativity and passion are encouraged.
