**Your new role**
The Sustainability Officer, in the context of the climate emergency, is wide-ranging role that delivers capital and operational projects and services across the suite of sustainability issues, with a significant focus on community engagement, education and empowerment. You'll:
- Maintain accurate records and regular project progress reporting ensuring agreed goals and objectives are achieved, including team budget management without oversight of this task provided by Sustainability Coordinator
- Prepare reports for Council and Executive as directed
- Develop and implement community climate action and/or sustainability projects and services including communications, and ability to undertake complex projects with many stakeholders.
- Collate and analyse data to ensure an evidence-based approach to decision-making and program design and delivery
**What you'll need to succeed**
As well as having tertiary qualifications in climate change, sustainability, environmental management or related discipline, you'll have:
- Experience delivering sustainability projects and services
- Experience working with industry and commercial businesses
- Experience in identifying and liaising with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes. This includes implementing personnel practices and performance management of consultants
