About the role:
The Accounts Receivable Officer plays a vital role within the NightOwl finance team, working closely with the Financial Controller and cross‑functional departments to ensure accurate financial records, effective debtor management, and strong cash‑flow performance. This position is central to maintaining high financial standards and supporting informed business decision‑making.
What you’ll be responsible for:
* Oversee and maintain the accounts receivable ledger with accuracy and attention to detail.
* Monitor outstanding invoices and drive timely collection of payments.
* Identify, investigate and resolve billing issues or cash allocation errors.
* Provide clear and professional communication to clients regarding invoice or account queries.
* Support the Accounts Payable function with reconciliations when required.
* Prepare monthly reports, including balance sheet reconciliations and other financial summaries.
* Contribute to broader financial management activities and analytical tasks.
* Partner closely with the finance and accounting team to streamline and enhance financial processes.
* Play an active role in improving the overall efficiency of the accounting function.
* Conduct regular debtor follow‑ups via phone and email to ensure prompt resolution of outstanding balances.
* Liaise with clients and internal teams to resolve payment discrepancies promptly.
* Work collaboratively with both finance and operational teams to support business outcomes.
* Assist in the ongoing refinement of receivables processes, reporting, and system improvements.
Who we’re looking for:
* 2–3 years’ experience in accounts receivable, with strong reconciliation capabilities.
* Exposure to accounts payable processes is highly advantageous.
* Strong skills in Excel; experience with NetSuite will be highly regarded.
* Able to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
* Highly organised, self‑motivated, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
