In this hands-on role, you'll ensure the availability and integrity of site-based communications systems across remote rail and mining locations. You'll work across a variety of mobile and fixed infrastructure platforms, including two-way radios, Cisco mesh networks, microwave PTP/PMP links, and fibre. Key responsibilities include: Monitor performance of site wireless systems and field radio coverage Conduct PM inspections of towers, trailers, and mobile communications assets Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Sepura TETRA radios and onboard hardware Relocate communications trailers as required to maintain coverage Respond to incidents logged through ServiceNow and provide on-call support Maintain TETRA database and digital fleet map Support infrastructure projects and system improvements as directed Collaborate with maintenance teams and field personnel to resolve issues quickly You are a qualified communications technician with experience supporting OT or comms infrastructure in heavy industry, mining, or rail environments. You're confident working autonomously, responding to breakdowns, and contributing to technology improvements on the ground. To be successful, you will have: Certificate IV or trade qualification in Electronics or Communication 5 years' experience in site-based OT or comms infrastructure Strong working knowledge of Cisco mesh, microwave, fibre optic systems Experience with Sepura TETRA radios or similar digital two-way systems Previous exposure to autonomous fleets or open-pit mining environments Strong fault-finding, installation, and system reporting capabilities ServiceNow (or similar) ticketing system experience desirable FIFO 8:6 roster (days only) from Perth to the Pilbara region 12.5-hour shifts, weekly pay cycle Hourly rate up to $65.73/hr depending on contract type Join a collaborative, safety-first team on a high-impact rail program Long-term project pipeline with stable site conditions
