We are seeking a driven and qualified individual with strong mechanical background to join our team as a Mechanic / Service Advisor.
About the role:
As the Mechanic / Service Advisor, you will serve as the key liaison between our customers and our workshop technicians. You will greet customers, assess vehicle issues (drawing on your hands-on mechanical expertise), provide accurate advice and quotes, coordinate repairs, handle invoicing, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
Your mechanics qualification and experience will be essential for confidently diagnosing problems, explaining technical repairs in clear terms to customers, and supporting the team in delivering high-quality, trustworthy outcomes.
Duties and responsibilities:
* Greet customers, listen to concerns, and inspect vehicles to identify issues
* Diagnose mechanical faults and advise on necessary repairs and servicing
* Prepare quotes, service estimates, and job sheets
* Coordinate with technicians to ensure repairs meet standards
* Communicate updates to customers, explain work performed, and handle approvals
* Perform final quality checks, invoicing, and customer handover
* Manage bookings, follow-ups, and customer relations
* Use computer systems for diagnostics (when assisting), invoicing, and secure record-keeping
Skills and experience:
* Proven experience as a qualified Motor Mechanic
* Minimum 5-10 years of hands-on mechanic experience required
* A good technical knowledge of general repairs, servicing, and diagnostics across most makes and models
* Customer service and communication skills
* High level of honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all interactions
* Commitment to maintaining strict business confidentiality and protecting sensitive customer/business information
* Basic to intermediate computer skills (for quotes, invoicing, and basic diagnostic software)
* Customer relations experience is highly advantageous but not necessary

* ACT Rego stamp held is advantageous but not necessary
* European vehicle experience very advantageous but not necessary
* Air conditioning licence advantageous but not necessary
* Engine rebuilding experience advantageous but not necessary
* Must have Australian working rights
