The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting, controls and commercial insights across the portfolio. You'll act as a trusted advisor to operational stakeholders while ensuring financial integrity, compliance and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading month-end, year-end and statutory reporting with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness
Developing and supporting budgets, forecasts and re-forecasts for multiple regions
Providing value-adding financial analysis and insights to support operational and strategic decision-making
Managing and mentoring a small finance team, including performance development and capability uplift
Strengthening financial controls, systems and processes to minimise risk and improve efficiency
Supporting pricing reviews, funding acquittals, tenders and business cases
Building strong relationships with senior operational leaders and internal stakeholders
About you
You're a confident, commercially minded accountant who enjoys working close to the business and leading others. You combine strong technical capability with the ability to communicate clearly and influence non-finance stakeholders.
Key requirements:
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
CA or CPA qualification (or near completion)
At least 5+ years' experience in management accounting or commercial finance roles
Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial reporting
Prior experience leading or mentoring staff (or readiness to step into a people leadership role)
Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to operate in a complex, regulated environment
A proactive, improvement-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
