PRIMARY DETAIL • Base salary from $119,056 - $132,475 (HEW Level 8) plus 17% employer’s superannuation contribution and annual leave loading. • Full time, fixed-term role for 2 years • Flexible working arrangement and supportive team About the role The Senior Integration Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring seamless and secure data exchange between diverse healthcare systems and applications used within the university hospital. You will design, develop, deploy and maintain integration solutions, enabling efficient data flow to support the hospital's digital transformation initiatives aimed at improving patient care and operational efficiency. Key areas of responsibilities: Lead and contribute to the evaluation, selection, and adoption of new platforms, tools, and integration technologies, ensuring alignment with MQ Health and MQ IT strategic objectives and operational needs. Lead the design, development, implementation, and operational support of integration solutions, databases, pipelines, and system integrations using industry-standard technologies (e.g., HL7, FHIR, APIs, web services, messaging queues). Collaborating with IT architects, business analysts, and clinical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Act as a subject matter expert in integration technologies and platforms, providing technical leadership in troubleshooting complex issues, developing solutions, and ensuring optimal system performance while leading knowledge sharing, coaching, and capability uplift and technical competency. Build strong collaborative relationships with internal teams, developers, hospital and university stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure solutions align with user needs and organisational priorities. This a full time, fixed term contract ending 31 December 2026 based at Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde. About You You will be a self-starting individual with excellent work organisation, time management skills and ability to work under pressure. You will have robust analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail and be able to effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders at all levels. You will enjoy working in a dynamic environment, applying a methodical and consultative approach in your work, and be motivated to deliver work outputs that are of a consistently high quality. Selection Criteria Minimum 3-5 years of experience in data integration preferably in a healthcare setting. Strong proficiency in integration technologies and frameworks, such as: HL7, FHIR, APIs, Web services and messaging queues. Experience with data mapping, transformation, and ETL processes. Familiarity with healthcare data standards and terminologies (e.g., SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10, AMT) Knowledge of data security and privacy best practices, particularly in relation to healthcare data. Ability to analyse complex integration challenges, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions. Proficiency in analysing data structures, identifying data mapping requirements, and resolving data inconsistencies between different systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including IT teams, clinicians, and administrators. Desirable criteria Familiarity with clinical processes and workflows to ensure that integration solutions support the needs of healthcare professionals and improve patient care. Knowledge of medical device integration standards and protocols to facilitate the secure and efficient exchange of data from medical devices.
