Offer description

**Position Title: Clinical Research Manager**
**Employment Type: Maximum Term, Full Time - 3 years**

**Hours: 38 hours per week**
**Position Grade: Common Law Contract**
**Salary: From $143,000.00 base per annum**
**Enterprise Agreement: The Named NSW (Non-Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations' Health Employees Agreement 2019**
**Department Name: St Vincent's Centre for Applied Medical Research (AMR)**

**Position Summary**:
A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated **Clinical Research Manager** with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centred care. The successful applicant will be expected to provide high level managerial support to the Executive Director of Research and the Chief Operating Officer to deliver a program of strategic reform of multidisciplinary clinical research and interventional studies across the St Vincent's Darlinghurst campus.

**Our aspirations include the following key priority areas**:

- Improve patient care by creating a vibrant clinical trials culture at St Vincent's, where clinical trials are seamlessly part of the standard of care. Healthcare organisations that are research-active provide better clinical care and have better patient outcomes than those that are less research-active. St Vincent's has an expectation that clinical trials are part of the standard of care.
- To align clinical trials more closely with clinical service priorities. Clinical trials will enable the delivery of the clinical services strategy (e.g. precision medicine, ambulatory care service integration and telehealth).
- To ensure St Vincent's keeps pace with the rapidly evolving regulatory and governance frameworks for clinical trials. International regulators have mandated quality frameworks and endorsed risk-based management approaches. Australia and NSW Health are following suit. St Vincent's will need to implement consistent quality and risk frameworks to meet the requirements as a sponsor of trials and quality recognition by external bodies.
- To position SVHN Sydney as a leader in best practice, to scale up and branch out. An innovative clinical trials model at St Vincent's in Darlinghurst will position St Vincent's Hospital Network (SVHN) Sydney as a leader in clinical trials.

The Clinical Trials Manager will be responsible for the operational management of the Centre for Applied Medical Research Clinical Research Program (CRP). Responsibilities included day-to-day management of facilities, its people and resources, quality management systems and training and education programs.

The vacancy is open to Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens who hold a valid New Zealand passport, Australian permanent residents and those non-residents deemed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to be eligible to work in Australia only.
