This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing afternoon and night dispatch activities, coordinating forklift drivers, dockhands and tug operators ensuring compliance with all operational and safety requirements. Supervisory & Leadership Skills - Ability to support and supervise drivers and floor staff where required Strong Organisational Skills - Confident in planning loads, allocating resources, and managing rosters Attention to Detail - Ensuring all consignments, PODs, and paperwork are accurate and completed correctly Compliance & Safety Focus - Understanding (or willingness to learn) Safe Operating Procedures, Chain of Responsibility, fatigue, and mass requirements Clear Communicator - Comfortable liaising between office staff, drivers, and warehouse teams Resilience & Accountability - Able to manage performance, priorities, and pressure in a live operational environment What You'll Do: Operations & Supervision - Assist the Shift and Operations Manager with supervision of floor staff Freight & Delivery Management - Ensure all deliveries are loaded on time and within designated delivery windows Load Planning & Allocation - Plan and build compliant loads and allocate staff, and equipment effectively Compliance & Safety Oversight - Monitor fatigue, mass, and Chain of Responsibility in line with legislative requirements Paperwork & Charging Accuracy - Work with Operations and Administration to ensure all inbound consignments are correctly documented and charged Team Coordination - Act as the link between office and floor staff to ensure correct loading and freight allocation People Management - Roster floor staff, manage performance, and participate in performance discussions We welcome candidates from high-intensity industries like logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, and retail—even if you haven't worked in transport before.
