We are seeking a hands-on
Senior Functional Quality Engineer
with extensive experience in the banking or mortgage industry, including strong expertise in API testing. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in functional and API testing, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior business and technical teams. This role requires a proactive approach to quality assurance and a deep understanding of
banking or mortgage business processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and execute functional and API testing activities for banking or mortgage applications ensuring high-quality deliverables.
* Design, develop, and maintain API test cases and scripts using Postman to validate backend services and integrations.
* Develop, review, and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts aligned with business and technical requirements.
* Collaborate closely with business analysts, product owners, developers, and integration teams to understand requirements and provide testing insights.
* Manage and communicate testing progress, risks, and issues to senior stakeholders and business teams.
* Mentor and guide junior quality engineers and testers.
* Facilitate defect triage meetings and ensure timely resolution of issues.
* Drive continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal quality standards relevant to the banking or mortgage sector.
* Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
* Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) phases and coordinate with business users.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience as a Functional Quality Engineer or Senior QE in the banking or mortgage domain.
* Strong hands-on experience in functional testing and API testing (RESTful and/or SOAP services).
* Proficiency with API testing using Postman.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage and influence senior business and technical teams.
* Solid understanding of banking or mortgage business processes, products, and regulatory environment.
* Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and documentation skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
* Familiarity with test management tools and defect tracking systems.
