Systems include traditional nurse call infrastructure with both wired and wireless technology (LoRa) along with specialist ecosystems for dementia support, fall detection, RTLS, and wandering resident management.

**The Role**
Working closely with the Managing Director and Operations Manager the Engineering Manager will lead, inspire and manage the day to day activities of the R&D department, including undertaking key software development tasks and shepherding projects through all steps of the design and production cycle. This includes taking ownership of the product ecosystem from an architectural perspective, along with creative input into future products and services.
The Engineering Manager must ensure that projects meet time, budget and quality.
The role reports to the Managing Director and is part of the Vitalcare management team.

**Selection Criteria**
- Relevant qualifications in Electronic Engineering
- 5 years + writing high quality code in embedded systems (ARM/STM32/AVR32/Linux)
- Proficient with code development in C, C++, Python, embedded to full-stack cloud services
- Version control systems experience (SVN, GIT)
- Experience with typical embedded and IoT control peripherals (ie. RAM, Flash, UART, PWM, A/D, I2C, RS232, RS485, USB, CAN bus, Ethernet, TCP/IP, MQTT and SPI)
- Experience with standard software engineering tools including: build systems, revision control, bug tracking, test frameworks using tools such as Atlassian Bitbucket, Jira and Sourcetree
- Experience in electronic board circuit design and related layout tools such as Altium
- Knowledge and experience in IP network design and function
- Knowledge and experience in network and I.T. security issues
- An understanding of a range of wireless communications protocols including WiFi, Bluetooth, BLE, Zigbee, NFC
- Familiarity with either managing or being engaged with projects consisting of Cloud servers, Webservers, AWS management, Google cloud, Android, IOS
- Familiarity with the following tech stacks: Java, Kotlin, Swift, PostgreSQL, React, Play, Apache, Docker, REST, Firebase, Node JS
- Excellent skills in design thinking, UI and UX
- Documentation writing experience from specifications to user manuals
- Experience with manufacturing and production engineering is desirable but not essential
- Proven self-motivation and the ability to work closely with others in a collegiate environment
- Ability to plan and manage projects taking responsibility for successful on-time delivery
- Excellent personal communication skills and the ability to foster a creative and productive environment
