Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide essential healthcare services to the LGBTQIA+ community in Minchinbury, NSW. This temporary part-time role is crucial in delivering inclusive and compassionate care, ensuring that all individuals feel respected and supported in their health journeys. The NP will play a vital role in promoting health equity and addressing the unique needs of the community.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive health assessments and develop individualised care plans for patients.
* Provide primary healthcare services, including diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions.
* Offer health education and counselling to patients and their families, focusing on LGBTQIA+ specific health issues.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and support for patients.
* Advocate for the health needs of the LGBTQIA+ community within the healthcare system.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
* Participate in community outreach programs to promote health awareness and access to services.
Qualifications:
* Registered Nurse with a current practising certificate in Australia.
* Postgraduate qualification in Nurse Practitioner or equivalent experience.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in a clinical setting, preferably with a focus on LGBTQIA+ health.
* Strong understanding of the health disparities faced by the LGBTQIA+ community.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in healthcare.
