About the Role
Boresight is seeking a talented Electronics Design Engineer, responsible for designing flight-critical, high-speed, complex electronics and avionics subsystems for Boresight’s UAS and supporting equipment. Such systems include flight computers, companion computers, datalinks, payload modules and peripherals such as sensors or ESCs. This is a full-time position based at Boresight’s engineering office in Fyshwick, Canberra.

Role Responsibilities
* Research, develop, design, test and evaluate critical, high-speed and complex PCBs and electrical subsystems for integration into Boresight UAS products.
* Generate and maintain PCB design files, schematics and related documentation.
* Implement PCB DFM best practices for productization of PCBs.
* Liaise with PCB manufactures, PCB assemblers and component suppliers to coordinate production of Boresight electrical systems.
* Test and commission flight critical PCBs and electrical subsystems.
* Review and revise internally developed PCBs.
* Identify and manage relationships with 3rd party design specialists to achieve product and design objectives.
* Using rapid prototyping tool and methodologies, build and test prototype electrical subsystems.
* Provide technical mentoring to junior hardware engineers.
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor, Master or PhD Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.
* 3-5 years’ experience developing PCBA designs
* Experience with EDA tools (Altium, Eagle, KiCAD etc)
* Experience with programming, Python, C, C++ or similar
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment
* Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Hold/obtain a minimum Baseline security clearance (must be an Australian citizen)
Desired Qualifications
* Experience with electronics design-for-manufacture.
* Demonstrable ability with soldering, use of electronics hand-tools and test equipment.
* Experience with UAVs in either a professional, educational or hobby environment.
* Remote pilot licence (RePL)
