City of Port Phillip has zero tolerance for child abuse and is a committed Child Safe organisation.What’s the role all aboutThe Team Leader Venue Management leads the proactive management of a network of flexible community spaces across the municipality to enable efficient delivery of inclusive, accessible, safe and multi-functional events that balances civic, community and commercial use in accordance with the Council Plan.You must be available on-call for all after hour’s assistance to provide support to event production staff as required.What you might doLead the Venue Management Team in the activation and operational management of Council’s portfolio of bookable spaces to ensure best value is achieved.Coordinate and manage Council resources including budget, staff, and contractors to provide a professional venue management service.Development and execution of marketing strategies and business plans to drive increased utilisation while balancing the needs of the Council Plan and budget.Facilitate relationships, partnerships, and engagement across Council and the community that support increased utilisation.Promote and assist in the continuous improvement of policies, processes, procedures, and systems.Assist in compliance and emergency management of bookable venues to ensure venues are fit-for-purpose, and act as Chief Warden as required.Who we are looking forTertiary or similar qualification in venue management, business, and / or substantial previous experience in the operational management, activation, events management, and integration of compatible services / programs of multi-use venues.A proven leader with a track record of building high performing teams.Highly developed interpersonal and written communication skills with the proven ability to successfully influence and gain cooperation in politically sensitive arrangements.An ability to think strategically and conceptually in the provision of well utilised and inclusive bookable spaces.Knowledge of OH&S and risk management practices relevant to the events, hospitality, and venue management is essential.Full Victorian Drivers Licence is required.Our work environmentWe love what we do and are all proud to work at the City of Port Phillip.
