About The Role
As an ITTC Youth Worker, you'll collaborate with a colleague to provide high-quality, trauma-informed support to a maximum of four young individuals. The program involves short-term assessment and support, typically lasting three months, with activities like equine therapy. The role requires active engagement, relationship building, therapeutic youth work, and team participation.
Our leadership team includes specialists in therapeutic care, education, and youth work, aiming to deliver quality services.
Part-time and casual positions are available at our Royalla location, reporting to the IITC House Manager.
Key responsibilities include:
* Helping young people develop living and life skills
* Modeling positive behavior and promoting social responsibility and emotional intelligence
* Encouraging participation and decision-making
* Supporting with household duties and ensuring needs are met through team collaboration
* Safeguarding and reporting concerns immediately
The ITTC System aims to:
* Provide alternatives to long-term residential care
* Create pathways to less intensive services and permanency
* Offer diverse placement options to achieve health and education outcomes
* Deliver trauma-informed services for positive outcomes
* Ensure safety, stability, and consistency through house guidelines and individual strategies
Key selection criteria:
* Diploma in Youth Work, Community Services, or equivalent
* Experience in youth services, residential care, or supported accommodation
* Understanding of Aboriginal culture and current issues faced by Aboriginal communities
* Experience working therapeutically with challenged and trauma-affected youth
