The Legal function at a global resources company provides strategic legal advice to support commercial objectives and manage legal risk.
The Legal Counsel role is responsible for providing legal advice and support to the company's Western Australian Iron Ore and Nickel assets.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing legal advice on commercial agreements, royalty, joint venture, and State Agreement issues.
* Acting as a key adviser and providing independent legal advice to support effective decision making within the Iron Ore business.
* Legal advice and support on operational issues and applicable regulatory regimes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* A strong understanding of commercial law and its application in the resources sector.
* Experience in providing legal advice and support to complex businesses.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work well in a team.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Post-admission experience of at least 4-5 years is desirable.
