Job Description
As an Agricultural Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the health of crops. This includes soil, leaf, and fruit monitoring for disease, pests, and weeds.
Key responsibilities include collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data samples of plant, soil, and other factors affecting production to assist in decision making for orchard nutrition and pest/disease management.
Additionally, you will study and trial new methods and products to ensure continued improvements to orchard health, nutrient levels, soil structure, and pest/disease pressures.
Implementation of IPM programs using science-based tools, analysis of data, and performing trials to ensure best practice is also a key responsibility.
Delivering a measurement-based approach to pathogen management, pest reduction, and nutrition management is also required.
Assisting with general farm hand duties, orchard administration, and irrigation duties as needed is also a requirement.
Ensuring a high level of compliance with Health and Safety requirements at all times is critical.
