ROBAR GROUP – Immediate Start: Excavator & Skid Steer Operators (Port of Brisbane) About the Role ROBAR Personnel is seeking experienced Excavator Operators and Skid Steer/Posi Track Operators for an immediate start, with multiple roles available on a newly released scope of works at the Port of Brisbane. This package involves 3m‑deep drainage, working with shoring boxes and trench shields, and supporting an established civil team on an active project. Excavator Work Overview Excavator operators will undertake deep trenching, bulk excavation, backfilling, and drainage support using shields and shoring boxes. Operators must be confident working in controlled environments, around services, and maintaining accuracy when required. GPS experience is preferred but not essential. Skid Steer / Posi Track Work Overview Skid Steer and Posi Track operators will support the excavation team through loading, material movement, trench support, backfilling, and general civil duties. These machines play a key role in maintaining production flow and assisting with tight‑access tasks along the drainage alignment. You’ll be operating a modern fleet of low‑hour machines within a professional, safety‑focused environment. Key Responsibilities Operate excavators safely and efficiently on deep drainage works Perform 3m‑deep trenching, backfilling, and associated civil tasks Work with shoring boxes and trench shields as part of safe excavation practices Utilise GPS‑guided systems where required (preferred but not critical) Operate skid steers and Posi Tracks for trench support, loading, and general civil duties Conduct daily machine checks, maintenance, and digital pre‑starts Report machine or site issues via mobile app Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a strong safety culture What We’re Looking For Valid Excavator Ticket and White Card Minimum 4 years’ excavator operating experience Experience in deep trenching, pile lifting, drainage, and working with shields/shoring boxes GPS Final Trim experience (advantageous) Strong understanding of machine maintenance and daily checks Ability to work autonomously and within a coordinated civil crew HR licence favourable but not essential MC licence beneficial but not required Working Arrangements This role is based at the Port of Brisbane, with additional scopes available across Brisbane and the greater region.
