Role Overview:
This key position combines technological innovation with strategic planning to enhance the effectiveness and resilience of transport networks.
Main Responsibilities:
* Design, develop and implement ITS technology to improve transport efficiency and safety
* Lead complex ITS projects, including traffic management, road network operations, and transport technology integration
* Develop the ITS Strategy, supporting policies and standards in alignment with state and federal guidelines
* Provide expert technical advice on ITS technologies, system architecture and future innovations
* Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure ITS solutions align with organisational and community needs
* Analyse transport data and system performance to optimise ITS operations and recommend improvements
* Manage documentation, testing and commissioning of ITS hardware and software solutions
Key Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree or higher relevant to the position or equivalent industry experience
* Demonstrated experience in planning, designing and managing Intelligent Transport Systems or relevant transport technology projects
* Strong technical knowledge of ITS components such as traffic signal systems, communications networks, sensors and control systems
