**Who u&u are partnering with**:
Our client is an Industry leader in the manufacture and sale of pre-stressed concrete railway sleepers. Operating four factories across Australia and servicing blue chip companies and government projects.

The purpose of the role is to manage the entire operations of the manufacturing facility to achieve the planned production levels, safely, with mínimal defects and at optimum cost, complying with our client's contractual obligations.

**What U will be doing**:
Responsible for leading and managing all site activities including Safety Management, Production, Maintenance, Projects;
Optimise the site metrics consisting of Defect rates, Safety Metrics, Productivity and Cost

Lead recruitment, development and retention of employees onsite and ensure that business interests are managed;
Develop and lead a collaborative, people centric site safety culture that focuses on the big risks and is consistent with the business' safety initiative;
Engage with sales, systems and engineering staff to develop production plans and to develop and maintain the plant master plan including the entering of orders and production info and insight of delivery times and deviations;
Maintain and administer accurate raw materials and finished goods inventory management systems and ensure physical stock counts are conducted quarterly and correct administration of these stock levels in SYSPRO;
Ensure maintenance routines are in place and delivered monthly and ensure critical spares are maintained, such that production losses from breakdowns are minimised;
Develop business case for improvement ideas and Capital improvement projects and project manage these to completion;
Monitor and maintain optimum shift structures and working schedules, optimising labour cost and maximising productivity;
Minimisation of dropped beds and reduction in cycle times and unplanned breakdowns; and

Monitor site running costs including Overheads, plant running and variable costs (usage and price) and work to minimise these costs, whilst producing a defect free product safely.

What experience do U need?

Suitable experience in engineering and management roles;
Strong manufacturing experience;
Ideally have an engineering background;
Similar industry experience; and

Strong communication skills and the ability to be the go-to person.
