We are seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join our client's team, providing leadership and assurance across a large-scale payroll function during a period of operational and system change. This role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end payroll and superannuation processes while ensuring full compliance with legislative and industrial requirements.
The role operates within the People and Culture function and partners closely with senior stakeholders. You will act as a key escalation point for complex payroll matters, support system enhancements, and drive process improvements that strengthen governance and employee experience in an award-driven environment.
Key Requirements
· Lead, coach, and develop the payroll team to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant payroll outcomes
· Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including data validation, payments, and reporting, while maintaining confidentiality
· Act as a subject matter expert on payroll, remuneration, and legislative compliance
· Interpret and apply awards, enterprise agreements, and industrial legislation to resolve complex payroll issues
· Develop, review, and maintain payroll procedures, work instructions, and controls
· Lead payroll-related system enhancements, upgrades, and testing activities to ensure high user acceptance
· Partner with People & Culture and Employee Relations on investigations and advisory matters
· Coordinate payroll audit responses, including internal and external audits, and deliver remediation actions
· Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and risk management
