The Role This role manages programs and initiatives that create safe, inclusive, and welcoming sport and active recreation opportunities in Victoria. It leads the delivery of Sport and Recreation Victoria-funded projects, including the All Abilities Regional Fund, to expand participation for targeted groups facing barriers. Reporting to the Manager, Policy, Equity, and Inclusion, the role ensures program compliance with government requirements and supports government processes through timely information distribution. Key accountabilities include: Lead projects to develop and implement inclusive sport and recreation policies and programs. Provide expert advice, prepare complex reports, ministerial briefs, correspondence, and agency submissions, and communicate key issues to senior management and stakeholders. Build and maintain strong relationships with government bodies and sport and active recreation sector stakeholders. The Team The position of Program Officer - Equity and Inclusion forms a part of the Sport and Recreation Victoria within the Sport and Experience Economy group. Sport and Experience Economy (SEE) is comprised of Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV), Tourism and Events (T&E) and Outdoor Recreation and Combat Sports (ORCS). SRV enhances sport and active recreation participation across Victoria to maximise economic, social, and health benefits. It supports ministers in managing major sports facilities, administers grants for community sports infrastructure, strengthens sport and recreation organisations, promotes active recreation, reduces participation barriers, backs world-class events and high-performance sport, and reinforces the sector's role in driving economic growth, job creation, and community development. About You The Program Officer requires strong project management skills, well developed communication skills and strong stakeholder management skills. The role will leverage relationships to influence change within and across the sport and recreation sector, as well as the wider Victorian Government.
