Kick-start your engineering career with Hancock Iron Ore through a structured two‑year Graduate Program designed to build your technical capability and set you up for long-term success in Rail Asset Management. As a Graduate Engineer – Signals and Communications, you will rotate across key rail engineering teams, giving you broad exposure to the full lifecycle of our Signals and Communications systems and asset management practices.

Rotating across Rail Reliability Engineering, the Engineering Excellence Group (EEG), the Remote Operations Centre (ROC), and our Signals and Communications Maintenance Team, you will gain hands-on experience in engineering governance, log analysis, system maintenance, reliability engineering, and overall asset management.

What you will gain throughout the program

* Practical experience across key rail signals and communications systems, including Train Control Systems, Automatic Train Protection, Interlocking Systems, TETRA, backbone transmission, WiMAX, asset protection systems, and level crossings
* Exposure to vendor management and the opportunity to collaborate with industry experts
* Hands-on experience gathering, analysing, and structuring data to support engineering and operational reporting
* The chance to assess business needs using asset management tools and contribute to improvement initiatives
* Opportunities to work closely with subject matter experts and build deep technical knowledge
* Cross-functional experience with a variety of internal stakeholders including Train Controllers, Train Drivers, Maintenance Technicians, Engineers, and operational leaders
* A strong foundation in the end-to-end Asset Management process

About you

We welcome applications from recent university graduates (within the past two years) who have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in:

* Control Systems Engineering
* Mechatronics Engineering
* Electronics Engineering
* Communications Engineering
* Electrical Engineering

To be successful in our graduate program, you will have a strong academic background and alignment to Hancock Iron Ore's values.
