We’re looking for a market-facing Business Development Underwriter (SME Packages) to help drive growth through broker partnerships and quality underwriting decisions from their North Sydney office.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Underwrite and manage a portfolio across SME Packages / SME Commercial risks
* Drive new business growth by developing strong, value-adding broker relationships
* Be highly visible in-market—spending time in broker offices, working with broking teams on opportunities
* Review submissions/slips with brokers and make confident underwriting decisions
* Provide practical underwriting support and solutions to help brokers win and place business
* Maintain accurate underwriting records and contribute to ongoing process improvement
We are looking for someone with:
* Proven underwriting experience in Biz Packs / SME Commercial
* Strong broker-facing capability with confidence building relationships in-person
* A commercial, proactive approach—comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment
* Great communication skills and the ability to influence outcomes
* Energy, presence and a growth mindset (suited to someone looking to move away from a more corporate setting)
