Job Description
About Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) operated by Healthscope, located in Frenchs Forest, is a contemporary 488-bed facility comprising 60% public and 40% private beds.
NBH offers a wide range of health services including Surgery, a 50-bed Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Birthing, Paediatrics, Cardiac, Mental Health, Dialysis, Cancer Centre and Outpatients.
NBH houses 13 operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheter theatre, two catheter laboratories and four endoscopy procedure rooms, all supported by a critical care unit that includes two intensive care wards.
The facility is designed to optimise patient safety and overall experience while providing meaningful management and operational efficiencies.
Role Overview
The Outpatients Department is looking for a friendly, experienced medical administration staff member for a part-time position (2 days per week – Monday and Tuesday).
Responsibilities
Provide patient-centred customer service: greet all customers and handle enquiries in a friendly, professional manner.
Book, reschedule and bill appointments.
Maintain accurate and timely patient information and process medical records.
Liaise with medical staff and other hospital areas.
Manage patient electronic records ensuring privacy and confidentiality.
Perform general administration duties as required.
Essential Criteria
Highly developed interpersonal and time-management skills, able to work in multidisciplinary environments.
Good computer literacy and sound knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Track record of providing great service and customer experience.
Strong interpersonal communication and report-writing skills.
Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment.
Ability to multitask with competing priorities.
