**Head of Swimming and Head Coach**

Toowoomba Grammar School (TGS) is seeking a Head of Swimming and Head Coach to lead and manage our swimming program across GPS, Club, State, and National levels of competition. The position is based at the TGS Aquatic Centre, a modern complex opened in 2010, featuring two indoor heated pools and a fully equipped exercise/gymnasium space.
This is a full-time role, offered on a fixed-term contract for two years.
**About TGS**
TGS was founded in 1875 and is a member school of the Great Public Schools Association of Queensland (GPS). It is an independent non-denominational day and boarding school for boys with a total enrolment of 1,200 from Preparatory to Year 12. There are approximately 300 boarders in the School coming predominantly from throughout Queensland, Northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory. The School's campus covers 20.5 hectares and is located one kilometre from the centre of Toowoomba.

**About the Position**
The role involves building and maintaining a high-performing team, while providing overall leadership of the GPS program and TGS Swimming Club. Based at the TGS Aquatic Centre, the position reports to the Headmaster through the Director of Co-Curricular Activities and operates under the supervision of the Head of Sport.
**Selection Criteria**:
You will be able to demonstrate your ability and commitment to:
- Proven coaching expertise with a minimum of five years' experience as a Head Coach and current Silver Level Accreditation.
- Proven coaching expertise working in a swimming club, managing staff and working with committees.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills in coordinating swimming programs, including training schedules, competitions, camps, and strategic planning at school, club, state, and national levels.
- Strong ability to build and develop teams, including recruiting, mentoring, and educating coaches, and fostering a positive, high-performance culture for swimmers of all ages and abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, staff, and external stakeholders to build strong relationships.
- High-level organisational and administrative skills, including experience with budget preparation, record management, event coordination, and reporting.
- Proven ability to identify and develop talent, including recruiting athletes, mentoring high-potential swimmers, and promoting pathways from grassroots to elite competition.
- Commitment to student wellbeing and community engagement, demonstrated through experience in customer service, collaboration, and fostering participation at both school and community levels.
