We're seeking a dynamic Cloud Solution Designer to partner with architects and infrastructure specialists to design, document, align, and deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions across diverse platforms.

What you'll do
* Collaborate with architects and infrastructure experts to design and deliver cohesive infrastructure solutions that address integration, compatibility, and heterogeneous platforms.
* Provide technical SME input on the Department's infrastructure framework, design tools, and methodologies; conduct high-level IT strategy-aligned research to influence solution design.
* Produce and present solution design models and options to help teams evolve toward the future state; design and document concepts that meet business needs and whole-of-government objectives.
* Review end-to-end infrastructure design, strategies, and technologies; deliver insights on alignment, risks, scale, cost-effectiveness, and impact on current/future state.
* Harness cloud and cloud-based technologies to drive innovation, maximise outcomes, and meet present and future end-user demands.
* Serve as the interface between infrastructure specialists and ICT architects to translate architecture into high-level delivery, testing, and implementation plans.
* Stay current with industry best practices to ensure ICT solutions are fit for purpose; build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to align strategies with business needs.
* Operate effectively within complex, large-scale environments, balancing internal capabilities with external supplier ecosystems.

About you
* Proven experience designing and delivering cloud-enabled infrastructure solutions in a multi-stakeholder environment.
* Strong background in enterprise architecture, infrastructure frameworks, and design tooling/methodologies.
* Ability to translate strategic IT priorities into actionable design models and implementation plans.
* Demonstrated agility in fast-paced settings, with a track record of driving innovation while maintaining compliance and standards.
* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
* Tertiary qualifications in information technology and/or demonstrated extensive equivalent professional experience
* Demonstrated experience designing and/or implementing technological solutions in a public cloud,
* Hybrid cloud, data centre environment, with a focus on automation technologies
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
