This is an opportunity for an experienced Principal Consultant to join SLR's Land Quality and Remediation team in our Perth office. Reporting to the Practice Manager, you will work closely with the local team and project leads, as well as technical specialists and industry leaders across APAC, who will support your technical growth within the wider SLR group.
With a passion for contaminated land management, earth sciences, contaminated hydrogeology, or civil/environmental engineering, you will work alongside likeminded professionals across a range of industry sectors. As a self‐starter, you will bring confidence and high‐level capability in project management, tender and proposal preparation, data analysis, reporting and stakeholder management.
Responsibilities
* Display a high level of acumen and confidence across all project management tasks, acting as the Project Director to deliver projects to a high standard with a strong focus on client and stakeholder relationships
* Prepare tenders, proposals, data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
* Work with the team to identify opportunities for growth, lead team resourcing and development, and foster a supportive culture across staff.
* Work collaboratively within a national team to lead activities that ensure a high standard of project completion, project delivery, sustainable business performance, and motivated staff.
* Actively support others within the national team to help execute LQ&R's growth strategy.
* Actively contribute to technical innovation and excellence by providing advice and assistance to internal and external clients and team members.
* Work closely with Team Leaders and the Technical Discipline Manager to appropriately manage and level resources.
* Oversee junior staff in undertaking technical tasks and preparing quality reports.
* Develop, facilitate, and enhance relationships between internal and external clients and SLR team members.
* Contribute to winning work by identifying and converting opportunities through existing projects and your own client relationships.
Skills And Experience
* A professional qualification in environmental science or engineering or other relevant degree and circa 10-15+ years professional experience in consulting or similar industry role
* Proven capability in environmental / contamination management (soil and groundwater)/ remediation (soil and groundwater), soil science, preferably in the development, mining and oil and gas sectors.
* The ability to analyse and interpret complex situations/problems and develop appropriate solutions in an effective and efficient manner.
* A high level of commercial acumen and proven success in developing winning proposals and client relationship management.
* Proven project management experience.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proven report writing skills and high computer literacy including data management and manipulation
* Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
* Excellent driving history and hold a current unrestricted driver's license.
* Australia Citizenship or rights to work in Australia.
