The Opportunity
We're currently seeking a Groundsperson to join our dedicated Horticulture team at Geelong. This full-time, permanent role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and values meaningful community service.
You'll be part of our Outdoor Operations and Horticulture Team, playing a key role in both funeral operations and grounds maintenance across our growing network of cemeteries.
Key Responsibilities
 * Grounds maintenance, including lawn and landscape care
 * Operating equipment such as brush cutters, mowers, backhoes, tractors, and excavators
 * Burial site preparation and grave digging
 * General construction and landscaping duties
 * Maintaining a strong commitment to safety standards
 * Supporting respectful and professional funeral operations
About You
We're looking for someone who:
 * Understands the importance of working respectfully in a sensitive setting
 * Has a strong focus on safety and teamwork
 * Experienced in horticulture
You'll also need:
 * A Certificate III in Horticulture (or higher) is desirable – however, practical experience in landscaping, parks, garden, irrigation or grounds maintenance will also be highly regarded
 * Confidence and competency in the safe use of tools, plant and equipment
 * A Heavy Rigid (HR) truck licence and relevant machinery tickets – or a willingness to obtain them within 6 months
 * The ability to work independently and as part of a team
 * Strong planning and time management skills
