Industrial Mining Electrician
For a Electrician to deliver specialised industrial electrical services for a leading mining contracting client supporting Glencore. A FIFO role offering continuous work within a highly reputable mining contractor based in Mount Isa.
* Requires: Electrical trade qualifications and related experience as the Casual Electrician.
* Salary guide: Up to $60.00 per hour inclusive of leave loading.
* Location: North-western suburbs of Queensland.
What the Electrician will do each day
* Perform a wide range of industrial electrical tasks including cable ladder installation, cable pulling, gland installation, electrical terminations, and earthing.
* Conduct diagnostic and maintenance work on mining machinery such as motors and pumps, often during critical shutdown periods.
* Operate on overground mining sites primarily, with occasional underground assignments as required.
* Utilise specialist equipment such as extended work platforms (EWP) for safe working at heights.
* Collaborate closely with boilermakers and fitters to supervise cable tray installations and ensure full compliance with electrical safety standards.
* Follow strict health, safety, and physical compliance protocols before commencing any work activities.
* Work FIFO rosters typically arranged as 2 weeks on / 1 week off or 3 weeks on / 1 week off, based out of Brisbane, Townsville, or Cairns.
* Potential to supervise teams of electricians and trades personnel ensuring work quality and safety compliance.
