Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine job requirements
* Assembling fabricated metal parts and components into machinery and equipment
* Installing, aligning, and commissioning mechanical systems and production equipment
* Diagnosing faults and performing repairs on mechanical systems, including pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and hydraulic equipment
* Conducting routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimise downtime
* Using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to carry out fitting and assembly tasks
* Dismantling faulty machinery and replacing or repairing defective parts
* Performing testing and adjustments to ensure machinery operates efficiently and safely
* Ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with Australian Standards, company procedures, and WHS regulations
* Liaising with supervisors, engineers, and other tradespersons to coordinate work activities
* Maintaining accurate maintenance records and reporting on completed work
Skills and Experience Requirements
* Relevant trade qualification (e.g. Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent)
* At least 1-2 years of relevant post-qualification work experience
* Demonstrated experience in mechanical fitting within a fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial environment
* Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Good communication and teamwork abilities
Pay: $77,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
