PART TIME – Permanent

Salary: $98,706 Full time (pro rata part time) + 12% Superannuation

Location: Applicants must reside in or be willing to relocate to Geraldton

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our People & Culture Team as a HR Advisor on a permanent part‑time basis, with flexible hours between 20–40 hours per week. The final weekly hours, along with start and finish times, will be discussed and agreed upon with the successful candidate.

About Us

Mid West Ports Authority (MWPA) provides an essential service, connecting regional Australia to national and international markets as a specialist port catering to boutique and diverse operations.

MWPA operates seven (7) commercial berths and critical marine and land assets which enables the facilitation of trade for the Mid West region, exporting a variety of products including iron ore, grains, mineral sands, non-mineral sands and mineral concentrates. The Port also imports fuel, fertiliser and break bulk cargo. The Port of Geraldton also encompasses the Geraldton Fishing Boat Harbour (FBH), home to Geraldton's fishing industry. The FBH provides significant opportunities for further development of the Port and activation of a thriving commercial and leisure industry hub.

About the Role

This position supports the People & Culture Manager, the Senior Management Team and MWPA staff by ensuring essential Human Resources and training functions are carried out and completed efficiently. This role will undertake projects as directed by the People & Culture Manager in line with the organisations strategic and workforce development plans.

About You

Key qualifications and experience:

Essential

· Relevant Human Resources Tertiary or relevant Industry experience

· Highly motivated self-starter who is able to work with minimal supervision;

· Previous experience in recruitment and employment screening;

· Demonstrated understanding of human resource practises and legislation;

· Demonstrated time management skills with ability to manage concurrent priorities in a fast-paced environment;

· Ability to identifying training needs and liaising with training providers and staff to ensure compliance;

· Attention to detail and excellent customer service;

· Ability to build strong professional relationships across a multi-faceted organisation; and

· Sound computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and database systems.

Desirable

· Cert IV Training and Assessor
