Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Clinician to deliver therapeutic care to people accessing mental health support. The successful candidate will use their clinical expertise and skills to competently deliver evidence-based interventions.
The clinician will work with clients who have diverse and sometimes complex psychosocial needs, adapting their approach to meet individual needs and providing clear documentation of notes and assessments.
They will also assess client need using the IAR-DST and provide a responsive first point of contact for people seeking service, meeting targets for program delivery and implementing collaborative shared care planning and treatment that respects personal recovery goals.
About the Role
This is a confidential service that comprises three mental health streams: Community health counselling, Head to Health and our Mental Health Service takes a holistic approach to mental health.
We apply a no-wrong-door approach to match clients to the best service. Adults and children aged 6+ years who are experiencing emotional distress and mental ill-health can receive help from our Mental Health Service, along with their families and carers.
Our service supports people living in Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Melton and Wyndham areas. To succeed you will need current registration or professional membership for Psychology (including Provisional Psychologist under supervision), Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nurse.
A minimum of 2 years' experience delivering therapeutic mental health support to diverse communities using evidence-based interventions is required, as well as demonstrated ability to work with people who have a range of presentations, backgrounds and needs.
