This is your opportunity to work with cutting-edge aerial technology while experiencing the unique landscapes of Australia from the sky.ABOUT THE ROLEWe are seeking an aviation-minded and detail-focused Aerial Sensor Operator to join our aviation team based out of Jandakot Airport, Perth.
This role is field-based and requires extensive travel to diverse regions of Australia, from coastal areas to remote outback locations, and you can be based from any major city within AustraliaIn this role, you will be directly involved in every stage of our aerial survey operations.
From preparing sensor kits and coordinating mission logistics on the ground, to operating advanced LiDAR and imagery systems in the air, your work will ensure that every mission delivers high-quality, accurate data.
You'll be expected to think on your feet, adapt to changing conditions, and maintain a strong focus on safety and compliance.A typical mission will see you travelling with pilots and crew to remote locations, setting up and calibrating equipment, monitoring live data capture in-flight, and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
When back on the ground, you'll handle data transfers, backups, and quality checks, as well as liaise with data processing teams to resolve coverage or accuracy issues.The range of tasks you will perform in this role include:Sensor Operations: Operate LiDAR and imagery sensors during missions, monitor performance, adjust settings, and communicate with pilots in real time.Data Management: Conduct post-flight checks, manage data transfers and backups, maintain flight logs, and flag quality issues.Sensor Setup & Maintenance: Install, calibrate, and test sensors; oversee freighting; perform basic troubleshooting and escalate complex issues when required.Mission Preparation & Coordination: Prepare kits, support flight planning, arrange accommodation and transport, and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.Continuous Improvement: Contribute to debriefs, suggest workflow or equipment improvements, and support training of new operators.ABOUT YOUYou are an aviation-minded professional who thrives in the field.

We are open to training candidates with strong transferrable skills.Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and data quality.Ability to troubleshoot equipment or data issues under pressure.Adaptability to agile schedules, weather, and remote fieldwork.Effective communication skills with pilots and technical teams.Background in surveying, remote sensing, aviation, or geography (desirable).
