Job Title: Aboriginal Lead – Prevention and Response to Violence, Abuse and Neglect
In this crucial position within the Hunter New England Local Health District, you will be leading work related to sexual assault and domestic and family violence specifically for Aboriginal people. Your role will involve collaborating with individuals who have experienced such assaults and their families to provide culturally safe and suitable needs assessment and access to therapy, counselling, and other support services tailored to their requirements.
To succeed in this clinical leadership role, you should possess a recognized qualification in Social Work, Counselling, or Psychology. Additionally, experience working in a trauma-informed service or within a community would be advantageous. This position is designed to assist a less experienced clinician in transitioning into a senior leadership role.
* Main Responsibilities:
o Lead district efforts in addressing sexual assault and domestic and family violence among Aboriginal people
o Work closely with individuals who have been affected by these issues and their families
o Conduct culturally appropriate needs assessments and facilitate access to relevant therapies, counsellings, and supportive services
