Executive Sous Chef Role
The Executive Sous Chef plays a pivotal role in the culinary team, contributing significantly to the company's success and milestones. This position oversees teams across multiple outlets, focusing on high-end food experiences for guests and VIPs. The individual collaborates with the executive chef to conceptualize and oversee various outlets and services, ensuring consistency and engaging employees in extraordinary ways.
Responsibilities:
* Establish, maintain, and enforce standards of operation across multiple kitchen outlets and service formats.
* Support the executive chef and/or sous chefs with operations, team development, and overall departmental management.
* Ensure food safety and general workplace safety in all food service areas.
* Train staff on work planning, safety protocols, and health inspection guidelines.
* Manage hiring and disciplinary actions, prioritizing the wellbeing of the team.
* Coordinate the successful opening of new outlets, especially VIP experiences.
* Maintain operations of outlets once established, overseeing daily activities.
* Plan and achieve cost per head targets set by the executive chef.
* Support hiring, development, retention, and overall management of food service staff.
Key Qualifications:
* Culinary degree and 4+ years of industry experience; or 6+ years of experience.
* At least 2 years of experience in a multi-outlet operation facility.
* Valid driver's license.
* Food Managers Certification.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
* Culinary degree preferred.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
* Experience in a corporate environment.
* Leadership experience with 20+ team members.
* Advanced knowledge of kitchen equipment and safety procedures.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Requirements:
* Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 25 lbs.) unassisted.
* Must obtain or hold a ServSafe or equivalent manager-level food handler certification.
* Ability to stand for long periods (up to 8 hours).
* Ability to perform frequent bending, stooping, and lifting.
* Availability for all shifts, overtime, and weekends.
* Participation in leadership and development training.
* Willingness to travel occasionally.
