In this role, you will lead Anglicare WA's government relations by building strong partnerships with government stakeholders and advocating for key social issues. You will influence policy through submissions, consultations, and strategic advice, while monitoring political trends and legislative changes. Managing and mentoring the advocacy team, you'll represent the organisation in key forums, contributing to positive policy outcomes that advance economic justice, housing, family violence prevention, and reconciliation. Your leadership will strengthen Anglicare WA's voice as a trusted advocate for a fair and inclusive Western Australia.

This permanent East Perth position has the option of working part-time or full-time (22.5 hours to 37.5 hours per week).

What You Will Bring

You will use your skills, understanding, and experience to lead government relations and advocacy efforts that advance social justice and systems change aligned with Anglicare WA's priorities. To succeed in this role, you will have:
* Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, combined with proven experience in government relations, public affairs, or a related area
* A strong understanding of the political landscape, legislative and policy-making processes in WA
* Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with government representatives, Ministers' offices, elected members, and key stakeholders
* Experience influencing policy through submissions, consultations, and strategic advice
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the organisation in diverse forums

You must hold a current National Police Clearance, Working with Children Check, and a WA Driver's License.

* A competitive salary from $126,481 (pro-rata if part-time) plus 12% super and salary packaging
* Salary packaging of up to $15,900 (which equates to circa $4K after tax) plus additional salary packaging of up to $2,650 for meal and entertainment expenses
