Your new role
As a Rehabilitation Case Manager, you will manage complex health and injury cases, providing expert advice and tailored solutions to support employees through recovery and return-to-work programs.
Key responsibilities include:
* Manage end-to-end health case management for ill or injured employees, including compensable and non-compensable cases in accordance with the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (SRC Act) and the Public Service Act 1999
* Monitor and coordinate return to work, rehabilitation plans and reasonable adjustments relating to health issues
* Advise managers and staff on injury management and legislative compliance
* Liaise with medical professionals, rehabilitation providers, insurers, and internal stakeholders
* Manage workers' compensation claims and ensuring obligations under relevant legislation are met
* Drive early intervention strategies and promoting wellbeing initiatives
What you'll need to succeed
Essential criteria:
* Australian citizenship and minimum Baseline Security Clearance
* Experience in rehabilitation case management, injury management, or related APS roles
* Strong understanding of APS frameworks, Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act legislation, and rehabilitation processes
* Proven ability to manage sensitive and complex cases with procedural fairness
* Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence and coach leaders
* Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and building effective relationships
* Personal integrity and a commitment to modelling the APS Code of Conduct
Desirable criteria:
* Relevant qualifications in Injury Management, Employment Law, Human Resources, Return to Work, or Allied Health
* Comcare Rehabilitation Case Management training
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and case management systems
