Database Administrator
(Oracle, SQL Server, OpenEdge & *SQL*)
Are you a Database Administrator who thrives on variety? Do you enjoy the challenge of managing a diverse tech stack that bridges enterprise-grade relational power with specialized business logic environments?
We are looking for a
multi-stack Database Administrator
to join our infrastructure team. In this role, you won't just be a "task-runner"—you will be the guardian of our data integrity, performance, and scalability across Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Progress OpenEdge and other SQL DB environments.
What You'll Do
* Administration & Optimization:
Manage the full lifecycle of Oracle (19c/21c), SQL Server, and OpenEdge databases, including installation, configuration, and patching.
* Performance Tuning:
Identify bottlenecks using AWR reports, Execution Plans, and OpenEdge PROMON to ensure lightning-fast query responses.
* High Availability:
Maintain and test robust Backup/Recovery strategies (RMAN, SQL Backups, and OpenEdge After-Imaging).
* Environment Management:
Seamlessly migrate data between development, staging, and production environments.
* Security:
Implement rigorous access controls, encryption at rest, and audit logging to keep our data safe and compliant.
What You Bring to the Table
We know finding someone with deep expertise in all three is a tall order. We value a strong foundation in
Oracle/SQL
and a willingness to master (or bring existing knowledge of)
OpenEdge
.
* Oracle:
Strong experience with RAC, Data Guard, and RMAN.
* SQL Server:
Proficiency in T-SQL, SSMS, and Always On Availability Groups.
* OpenEdge:
Experience with Progress database administration, including Type II areas, index rebuilding, and OE Management.
* Automation:
A "lazy in a good way" mindset—using Python, PowerShell, or Bash to automate repetitive tasks.
* Problem-Solving:
The ability to stay calm when a production server goes sideways at 2:00 PM (or 2:00 AM).
