Overview
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) coordinates care across the full cardiology patient journey, including inpatient, outpatient, emergency, elective, and transfer cases. Acting as a key point of contact, the CNC supports communication between patients, families, and healthcare teams, guiding patients through treatment and providing education. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the CNC uses advanced clinical expertise to lead care delivery, make independent decisions, and improve service outcomes, focusing on enhancing continuity of care, patient experience, and overall clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate care management across inpatient, outpatient, elective, emergency, and inter‐hospital transfers.
* Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, and nursing staff.
* Provide patient and family education on cardiac health management.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research.
* Mentor and support junior nursing staff.
Qualifications
* Substantial experience in cardiac or critical care nursing.
* Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Commitment to evidence‐based practice and continuous learning.
* Registered Nurse, registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Desirable: relevant post‐graduate tertiary qualification in cardiology.
Benefits and Compensation
* $118,297 to $125,543 per annum, in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023.

* Post‐graduate allowance up to 10 % based on qualification type.
* Salary packaging range includes living expenses up to $9,010 plus $2,650 in meal entertainment per FBT year.

Employment Details
* Permanent, full‐time position.
