About Derby Aboriginal Health Service (DAHS)


Derby Aboriginal Health Service (DAHS) is a leading Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) dedicated to providing comprehensive primary health care and innovative public health programs to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Derby and surrounding communities. Position Overview


The Human Resources Officer will play a vital role in supporting our workforce and enhancing our organisational culture. You will be instrumental in recruitment, staff development, and compliance with HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with both Commonwealth and State legislation.

In this multifaceted role, you will have the opportunity to influence and shape HR practises while contributing to the overall success of DAHS. You will work closely with Senior Managers to ensure our workforce is well-equipped to deliver exceptional health services to our community.


Candidate Profile


The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in HR practises and a deep commitment to cultural sensitivity. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

* A qualification and/or relevant experience in Administration or equivalent.
* Demonstrated high-level verbal, oral, and written communication skills.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution abilities.
* Effective time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment.
* Proven initiative and attention to detail, with the analytical ability to report on HR metrics.
* Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
* Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one.

In addition to these essential criteria, knowledge of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services and current employment legislation will be highly regarded. A current "C" class WA driver's licence and local Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander connections will also enhance your application.
