This is not a standard Business Development role.

At Yalari, you will operate at the highest levels of corporate and philanthropic Australia — engaging with major corporates, large foundations, family offices and senior decision-makers — while working alongside highly influential and deeply connected Regional Councils across multiple states. You will build meaningful, long-term partnerships that directly fund life-changing educational opportunities for Indigenous children from remote and regional communities. The impact is real, tangible and immediate — and it will shape you as much as it shapes the students we support.

Why This Role Is Different

You will own multi-state revenue growth, managing a substantial pipeline and driving complex opportunities through to close. This requires discipline, attention to detail and exceptional follow-through across numerous leads, pitches, meetings and proposals.

The stakeholders are exceptional. You will engage with some of Australia’s largest corporates and large foundations, as well as influential business leaders who actively support Yalari’s mission.

The organisation is established and ambitious as it reaches for a 10-year, $200 million endowment vision. The foundations are built and the momentum is real. By contributing to the next phase of growth, you will play a visible role in shaping one of Australia’s most ambitious Indigenous education funding initiatives, strengthening your own career credibility as a senior fundraising and partnerships professional.

The Role

With responsibility across multiple states, you will develop and execute clear growth strategies; build, manage and convert a substantial pipeline; engage senior leaders across corporates, trusts, foundations and private supporters; manage numerous concurrent opportunities with precision; drive disciplined follow-up from first meeting through to close; and partner closely with Regional Councils to unlock networks and introductions.

You will represent the organisation in a way that makes stakeholders feel genuinely connected, combining commercial rigour with authenticity and care. Success requires commercial capability, strong organisation, meticulous attention to detail and consistent follow-through.

About You

You are a proven Business Development professional with a strong track record of revenue growth and closing complex deals. You are confident operating at executive and board level, capable of managing multiple prospects and workstreams without losing momentum, and you bring structure, discipline and accountability to pipeline management. You build trusted, long-term relationships with credibility and warmth, and you are motivated by purpose while driven by performance. Experience may come from corporate partnerships, philanthropy, sponsorship, corporate development or complex B2B environments.

About Yalari

Founded in 2005, Yalari provides scholarships for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from remote and regional communities to attend leading Australian boarding schools. We currently support over 260 students and more than 600 alumni from nearly 200 communities nationally.
