Aboutthe RoleDue to continual growth anddevelopment, the City is seeking a full time Landscape Officer tojoin the Parks Contracts team. The position contributes tothe effective management of contracted landscaped areas. With aproactive and team driven approach you will possess knowledge andexperience in public open space landscape maintenance andmanagement.
You will beresponsible for:
Liaisingwith customers and stakeholders to deliver service excellence,ensuring that information is accurate, consistent, clearlycommunicated and issues are resolved in a timelymanner.
Scheduling andundertakes site and safety inspections to ensure works areundertaken in line with specification requirements.
Assisting the TechnicalOfficer - Horticulture with contract management and purchasingrequirements.
Overseeing minor parkupgrades and landscape works from initial scoping tocompletion.
Providing an assetmanagement service, including inspecting, recording andvalidating landscaping asset information, in accordance withestablished policies, processes and procedures.
Reporting hazardous ordefective landscape infrastructure assets to relevantstakeholders, enabling remedial works to be undertaken beforepotential incidents occur.
AboutYouThe successful appointee must be passionate aboutthe local community, work well in a team environment and have theskills and abilities to produce quality landscapeoutcomes.
As a collaborative member of the Parks Contracts team, you will be able to demonstrate strong analytical and problem solvingskills which enables the team to operate as a proactive andcohesive unit. Applicants must be able to demonstrate throughtheir CV and covering letter that they address the following selection criteria:
Qualifications inrelevant discipline such as land management, Certificate III inHorticulture or project management.
Knowledge of landscapemanagement and maintenance practices.
Understanding ofpurchasing processes and requirements.
Contractor managementskills and knowledge.
Demonstrated customerservice skills.
Knowledge of thepractical application of occupational health and safetymeasures.
Anunderstanding of Local Government operations and/or localgovernment experience.
CurrentC class Driver's License is required
BasicWorksite Traffic Management is desirable.
