Rates: Weekday $46.89, Saturday $61.16, Sunday $71.36 (plus superannuation contribution)
Preference will be given to candidates who meet the role standards and are of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, reflecting lived experience value. All applicants are welcome.
Responsibilities
Provide community clients with the opportunity to form a positive relationship with an adult who can provide individual assistance, guidance, and support to reduce offending and successfully integrate young people into the community.
* Act as a role model, encourage participation in educational, vocational and employment programs, positive lifestyle and recreational activities.
* Enter a service provision contract with the young person and their youth justice officer/counsellor based on identified case plan goals.
* Maintain contact and work as directed by the agreed, regularly revised case plan.
* Provide verbal reports and written case notes on activities and interventions undertaken as part of the case plan.
* Provide support to young people (family/court support, not legal representation).
* Support young people in alternative placements such as accommodation or school.
* Notify the youth justice officer/counsellor of any experienced or anticipated difficulties.
* Ensure all required documentation is complete.
* Support or provide guidance, coaching or assistance in developing life skills:
o Literacy and numeracy
o Job search skills, resume writing
o Budgeting
o Social skills
o Vocational skills (e.g., woodwork, metalwork, lawn maintenance)
Qualifications
* Current NSW Driver's Licence
* Current NSW Working with Children Check clearance
* Appointment may require National Criminal History Record Check complying with Disability Inclusion Act 2014
